For sale at REV is a unique resto-modded 1959 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 2-Door Holiday Coupe. The interior, paint, engine, transmission, brakes, power steering, suspension, wheels, tires, exhaust, and axles were all restored between 2015 and 2017. The vehicle was purchased in Florida by it's previous owner prior to the restoration. The original 371ci V8 was replaced with a SBC 350ci V8 with some minor performance upgrades. These include a high-rise Edelbrock performer intake manifold, street cam, Holley 4bbl carburetor w/ electric choke, electric fuel pump, dual electric fans, aluminum valve covers, and air filter. The transmission was upgraded at the same time to a smooth-shifting GM 700r4 automatic with overdrive. A GM power steering system was adapted, for easy around-town driving. The brakes do not have a power booster, and are drum all around -- which stop the Oldsmobile very well and in a straight line. The rear shock absorbers were upgraded to modern air shocks, in order to reduce the classic 'float' that these cars had from the factory. They are outfitted with valve stems to inflate/deflate, mounted beneath the rear bumper. At 80 mph on the interstate, the car feels planted and stable, and is only turning about 2,000 RPM. The hubcaps are from a 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS and they have been fitted with Oldsmobile center caps. The radial tires are in good shape, with no signs of dry rot and plenty of tread left, and have a white stripe to set the classic appearance. The interior is outfitted with new carpet, seat upholstery, headliner, and a re-painted dash. The factory AM radio was upgraded to a Kenwood head unit, and 3 Pioneer speakers are custom mounted to the greenhouse area behind the rear seats. Aftermarket gauges are mounted beneath the dash, which display Oil Pressure, Coolant Temperature, and Battery Voltage. Due to the transmission being non-original, the factory speedometer does not operate. We will include a GPS speedometer with the sale of the vehicle which can plug into the Kenwood stereo for power. The dash trim on the passenger side of the interior has been upgraded to a unit from a 1959 Super 88, with a functional backlit analog clock. The trunk has been lined with carpet, and finished very tastefully for a car-show ready appearance. The vehicle will come with several spare parts including a spare heater core, gauge cluster, and other misc trim and mechanical pieces. A shop manual and wiring diagram will also be included.
