REV is excited to offer this one-of-a-kind fully restored 1979 Pontiac Trans Am resto-mod, finished in Platinum Metallic over Black vinyl leatherette interior. This T/A comes to REV on consignment, by it's local owner, who is reportedly the third since this car was new. It is a fresh restoration, completed in 2021, with no expense spared. Gone is the original 400ci 6.6 V8, which is now replaced with a 455ci V8 taken from a 1975 Pontiac. This new engine is outfitted with a mild COMP Cams camshaft, Edelbrock Intake, 3" Pypes custom dual exhaust, and a Holley Sniper EFI fuel injection system. This example was a rare 4-speed from the factory, but that too has been upgraded with a Tremec TKX 5-speed manual gearbox with Qwik Stick Shifter. A polished aluminum CVF Serpentine Belt System adorns the blue-painted 7.5L monster V8, which include a power steering pump, alternator, AC compressor, and all pulleys. Handling is further improved to match the new additional power by a set of Pro-Touring subframe connectors, and Year One 17x9 Silver Cast wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. Stopping power is drastically improved thanks to Wilwood calipers and discs mounted to all four wheels. Paint and body on this car are excellent, with just minor wear and tear as expected with a car that's being enjoyed on the weekends. The paint was cut, polished, and professionally ceramic coated within the last 12 months. Paint flaws are detailed in photos. LED lights now replace the factory halogen bulbs throughout the car. Inside, you will find a modern 3-point seat belt system for the front seats, which have been upgraded to Procar Elite front black vinyl buckets. The car has power windows from the factory, and glass t-tops with factory canvas bags to protect when not in use. The factory radio has been upgraded to an MBQuart AM/FM/Bluetooth unit mounted in the center console. The steering column has tilt functionality. All factory gauges are operational. Overall, the interior is in outstanding condition, and has been restored/upgraded along with the rest of the car. Underneath this Trans AM, you will not find a speck of rust. The undercarriage has been media blasted and painted along with the rest of the car. It's rare to find a 1979 Trans Am with the list of rare factory options that this car has. It is even further challenging to find a tasteful and professionally done resto-mod which pays homage to the originality of these cars, while making them enjoyable in the modern era. You will not be disappointed with this one, it's about as nice as they come!
